Swapping a Number Between CDMA Devices#

Last updated by Isabel M

If you want to swap or move a number from one active CDMA device to another inactive CDMA device, there's an easy way to access that from your Device Settings. Just follow the steps below.

Remember, numbers can't be swapped between phones and data devices or hotspots. If you want to swap numbers between GSM devices, you can just swap SIM cards.

1. Sign in to your Ting account online using your Ting, Amazon or Persona login information.

2. Click Device settings.

3. Click on the device with the phone number that you want to move and then click the edit icon in the Device row.

4. Click Switch devices.

5. Select the inactive device that you want to move your number to and click Done.

6. Follow the steps on this page to complete your activation and get your device working on the network. If the steps don't work, click on the red No luck button to see more troubleshooting steps. If it does work click on the green It worked button.

7. Your number is now swapped and you can start using your phone right away.

We'll also remind you of your billing cycle. Your billing cycle will be the same as it is for all your other devices and is set by the first device you activated.

Your old phone is now inactive with no number on it and you'll be able to find it in your Device settings with an Activate link next to it. You can reactivate that phone anytime you like.
